Description

The Strokes' "Is This It" on limited edition vinyl is an essential addition to any music lover's collection. Arriving on a wave of well-earned hype rooted in tight chops and a confident swagger, the Strokes offer a rock and roll antidote to the plague of boy bands, teen divas, and petulant rap-rock outfits. Although the band's catchy guitars and garage-rock leanings made this album an instant classic, its provocative cover was arguably just as impactful. The album was released in the summer of 2001 and features the singles ‘Hard To Explain’, ‘Last Nite’ and ‘Someday’ all of which were top 20 hits in the UK. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse.

In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. My copy matches this listing exactly (no Ⓤ or ☆ in runout) except the labels have fine text beneath the Side A and Side B, which match the photos of this pressing: https://www. It has the big hit Last Nite which of course most people will have heard but there simple isn't a dull moment on this album. Additionally, the album's original cover photo was replaced by a less sexually explicit artwork for the US market. Per an interview in 2001/2002 with Julian Casablancas (I read it back then and wish I could find it now), about 5,000 copies were pressed before 9/11 with the song "New York City Cops. Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. Release Date: 12th January Thank you Strokes for saving us from Nu Metal and bland Post-Britpop indie.

Among the many highlights are Last Nite with its insistent motown backbeat and choppy johnny thunders-like guitar solo, Barely Legal, sounding like 1980s-era Cure fronted by a saucy Iggy Pop, and the jangly Someday with its hairshirt of vulnerability from a bad break-up. Known for their garage rock revival sound, they quickly gained popularity with their debut album "Is This It" in 2001. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). The black and white image was shot by Colin Lane, who had been photographing the band in New York prior to the album's release. I'm surprised at how long it's taken them to do a pressing with both When It Started and New York City Cops but glad to finally own one.
