I thought it would grow on me but on the contrary, everytime i go back to it i find myself enjoying it less. It is one of the few ouds I have that might be considered wearable in public due to its soft sillage and minimal barnyard or fecal notes. What I love most is smelling it in the morning when I wake up from bed, I don't know why but there's something addictive about the smell of leather and oud together. Even if I intend on smelling something different, most of the time I still end up choosing to wear Ameer Al Oudh Intense over everything else.

nothing like Raghba though people keep comparing it; this is oud, dry, woody, little bitter but warm with the sweet sugar offsetting it; layered with Raghba Wood Intense it smells like cigarettes and I love the two together. Sultan Al Arab - luxurious oriental perfume for women and men, created by the Arab brand of niche fragrances Khalis. I'm happy with my great deal, though I think this 100ml could very well last me a few years, since it's a one season (perhaps 2) fragrance that only needs a handful of sprays to shine the entire day instead of 30 spritzes I usually need for 3 hours. The smokiness is certainly there, like the smell of woodsmoke outside on a chilly autumn evening, when folks have their wood burners and log fires going. Almost reminds me of cinnamon toast being cooked in an ultra clean break room of a Reynold's Wrap factory.I use it as an air freshener simply because I have Encre Noire A L’Extreme and that one gives me exactly the complex woody fragrance I need. Think of it along the lines of an exceptional "inspired by BTF" fragrance, having its own character. Although I do get a lot of burnt sugar and mild woods, I also get a pretty unexpected fruity floral-ness from this. While I do think the spices and smoke push it to the male side, a woman who cares little about stereotypes could probably pull this off too. Bought this on a whim after looking at the notes I was not sold however, my friend who also loves fragrances says it’s actually quite nice.

Let me first say that I can't support or deny the claim that this is a dupe for Replicas By the Fireplace. Definitely very interesting and I don't hate it but like I said earlier, that floral note really caught me off guard. I don't really get much vanilla from this, the sweetness seems to come from something else entirely. Depicting the strength of this lingering scent, this fragrance main oud note is Oudh from Cambodia which yields earthy and woody smoky notes. When I first got this I thought I had a problem because with 10 sprays I got hardly anything, after a few months I get marzipan for an hour or so before fading to absolutely nothing. The only thing is that I find that the opening is a LOT harsher in comparison, once it dries down it mellows out though. Transitioning into the heart, the vanilla sweetens further, and takes on an additional faintly creamy tone, which is supported by the creamy sandalwood in the base. Look I’m not an expert so maybe I was just picking up the oud in each frag, but I’d say this definitely smells a lot more like Oud Save The King than it does By The Fireplace.

i think this is my favorite perfume of all time and its only 20 dollars 😭 smells almost identical to btf and an amazing, high quality perfume. The first spray is awful, mostly smelling of alcohol (guessing this is a perfume that needs to mascerate for a bit) but regardless, it's simply not a dupe at all. It's got saffron noticeably but it's not screechy, plasticky or off-putting for me like it is in other Lattafa fragrances. This Arabian Oud gift set will be perfect for every occasion- birthdays, anniversaries, and for him and her.I have to commend Lattafa for pulling off their own interpretation of By the Fireplace, which smells so unique, you'd think it would be impossible for another fragrance to smell similar. This is thankfully in my opinion not potentially cloying like it, but I find it even sweeter than Joop Homme, so know that if you tend to get nauseous or dizzy by overly sweet fragrances. I don't think this is a direct substitute for BTF, but if you like that and would prefer something that's less focused on the campfire smell and more towards say, caramel or sugar, you'll like this. It is sweet and creamy-blamy and some might say Arabian kind of sticky and cloying, but the dry down is really everything.
