Strategic Positioning: Determine the optimal placement for your router to maximize Wi-Fi coverage. Consider mounting the router in a central location, away from obstacles, to ensure a stronger and more reliable signal.

The ISEKIE Starlink Router Wall Mount is very affordable, and includes everything needed to mount a Gen 2 router on a wall. Although it is made of plastic, it feels sturdy and tough enough to last for many years. I found that the white finish blends right in with the plastic on the Starlink router. Note: Router antennas typically project a WiFi signal perpendicular to where they are pointing; an antenna pointing vertically projects a WiFi signal horizontally, while an antenna pointing horizontally projects a WiFi signal vertically. A single-story home might benefit from a fully vertical antenna position, as WiFi coverage isn’t needed above or below the router. A multi-story home, however, might benefit from a mixture of vertical, angled, and horizontal antenna positions to provide coverage in all directions.

Choose a location

The Shelf has been designed with enough room between the wall and router to allow for cables whilst allowing the equipment to breathe, preventing overheating and the wifi signal path to be kept clear. It has a laser cutout for you to route your cables. For maximum coverage, place your router in a central position in your home. Install the router as close to the center of the room as possible, away from the corners of the room. We recommend that you avoid placing your router in rooms like a basement, attic, or closet, and avoid other devices that might cause interference, like microwave ovens or baby monitors. Mount your router Using the measurement that you took in Step 2, mark your wall and drill holes for the wall anchors.

Swivel Wall Mount: This type of mount allows you to rotate and adjust the position of the router. It offers flexibility in directing the signal towards specific areas, ideal for improving coverage in different corners of your space. Magnetic Wall Mount: If you prefer a non-permanent mounting solution, a magnetic wall mount could be a great choice. It allows easy installation and removal without damaging your walls. The following illustrations depict an older NETGEAR router; your router might look different, but the wall mounting process is similar for all models. Height Consideration: Mount the router at an appropriate height to avoid interference from furniture, walls, or other objects that may obstruct the signal.

Recent Stories

There's also the problem that not all routers are designed to be vertical. Many routers use simple convection to stay cool, which could lead to overheating unless the router is going in a well-ventilated area.
